The Sisters of Loretto found Webster College.
1925
The North Central Association of Colleges and Schools grants accreditation to Webster College.
1928
Loretto Hall, Webster's first dormitory opens.
1959
Maria Hall, a dormitory with dining hall, opens.
1962
Webster's first male students are enrolled in the Theatre Arts program.
1963
Webster's first graduate program, a master's of arts in teaching (M.A.T.) begins.
1966
The Loretto-Hilton Center for the Performing Arts is completed.
The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis debuts.
An extended campus in Kansas City, Mo., begins by offering the M.A.T.
1967
The Sisters of Loretto transfer ownership of Webster to a lay board of directors.
1968
Male students are accepted in all departments.
1973
The master's of arts program is established.
1974
Webster first offers programs at a military location, Ft. Sheridan, north of Chicago.
1975
The Opera Theatre of Saint Louis is born and makes Webster its home.
1978
Webster opens it first European campus in Geneva, Switzerland.
1981
The Vienna, Austria, campus opens.
1983
Webster College is renamed Webster University.
The Leiden, Netherlands, campus opens.
1986
The London, England, campus opens.
1988
The Leif J. Sverdrup Business and Technology Complex opens.
1992
The University Center is completed.
1995
The first annual Webster Works Worldwide community service day is held.
1996
An M.B.A. program is established on the campus of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics in China.
The Eden-Webster Library's new Passports access system makes available a "virtual library" of research tools and journal access to Webster students worldwide.
1999
Webster opens its seventh international campus at Cha-am, Thailand.
2001
A 700-space parking garage opens on the St. Louis campus
2002
The University’s 100th campus opens at WingHaven in St. Charles County, Mo.
The University opens an extended campus in Shenzhen, its second campus in China.
2003
The Emerson Library opens.
A capital campaign raises more than $44 million.
The University opens an extended campus in Chengdu, its third campus in China.
2006
Downtown St. Louis campus relocates to the historic Old Post Office.
