The Third Annual Central Region Student Summit will be rocking soon - April 3rd - 5th, 2009 at Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri.

IF YOU HAVEN'T REGISTERED YET, JUST PRINT OUT THE REGISTRATION FORM (click onthe link on the left), FILL IT OUT, AND BRING IT ALONG WITH YOUR $25 REGISTRATION FEE.

Phil Ramone will be our keynote speaker, along with an impressive list of guest speakers and presenters, including John Storyk and Jim Anderson. And we just found out, Frank Filipetti will also be here! Students have gotten a variety of audio businesses involved as sponsors andexhibitors.

There will be panels and tutorials on such topics as Internships and Entry Level Positions, Home Recording, Gaming, the Future of Analog, Aesthetics, Studio Ownership, Women in Audio, Sound Reinforcement, Signal Processing and Vintage Gear, to name a few. We will be holding a Recording Competition with great prizes. We are modeling it on the AES conventions, on a small scale.

Did we mention that we will have an analog recording session on Friday night and a concert featuring Illphonics on Saturday night, in conjunction with a sound reinforcement tutorial?

And that event, along with the Friday night Welcome Mixer is included in your $25 registration fee? Did we mention that we'll even throw in lunch on Saturday? Okay, since you asked, we'll throw in breakfast too!

This will be a great opportunity for students from the Central Region, some of whom cannot attend the conventions in New York or California that we love so much, to mingle with their peers from other educational institutions as well as professionals. It will give you the same opportunity to put your hands on gear and network with the pros, just like on the exhibition floor at the Javits or the Moscone Center. This event does not replace the big AES conventions, for those who go to New York or San Francisco this will supplement your experience, for those who can not go it will give you the opportunity to see what you are missing, and gather some knowledge, and make some new like-minded friends.

We hope you will attend. We also hope you will spread the word to everyone you know in the audio community: students, educators, home recordists, pros, AES members and non-members alike.
