Program Overview

The Global Master of Arts in International Relations (Global MA) program, offers students the opportunity to earn a masters degree and a graduate certificate through 11 months of worldwide travel and immersive education. Traveling with a cohort, students study in five countries, across multiple continents, benefiting from the combined knowledge of outstanding scholars and practitioners in the field. Along the way, students are challenged to go beyond their textbooks to gain first-hand exposure to the world of international relations by visiting with professionals at local, national, and international organizations working on issues such as global poverty, international and regional security, human rights, and economic development.

Students achieve the objectives of the program through:

  1. Coursework that provides a theoretical foundation in the discipline of international relations
  2. Earning a graduate certificate built into the curriculum, which allows students to gain greater exposure to key subfields relevant to today’s issues.  Certificate options include: Comparative and Regional Governance, International and Regional Security, International Development, and International and Non-Governmental Organizations.
  3. Attending Professional Seminars each week that help students to develop real-world knowledge and crucial networking skills within the field of international relations.
