Kenneth Balk
Kenneth Balk founded the architectural engineering firm, Kenneth Balk & Associates,
in 1959, and served as its president and CEO until 2000. After selling KBA, he founded
K.Balk Advisors, which guides clients in developing strategic plans; sets up appropriate
processes for their successful and timely delivery of major capital projects; and
assists them in troubled projects that require turn-around expertise. Ken served the
Home Builders' Association of Greater St. Louis as Director and Vice-President and
was Director and President of the Home Owners Warranty Council. He is a past Treasurer
of the Consulting Engineers Council of Missouri. Through his association with the
St. Louis Regional Commerce and Growth Association, Ken was appointed to a Special
Task Force to investigate highway funding for the State of Missouri. He has served
as Chairman of the Mass Transit & Railroads Committee, Chairman of its Transportation
Subcommittee, and was Chairman of the Board of the Missouri Transportation & Development
Council, District 6. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Registered
Professional Engineer, and a member of the Missouri and National Society of Professional
Engineers. He graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a bachelor's
degree in civil engineering.
