Advisory Board: David Whitehead
David P. Whitehead is responsible for leading all fundraising efforts for AARP and AARP Foundation. He has been a non-profit leader for 27 years, having helped a number of national and international organizations become more effective through strategic investments and revenue growth. At AARP, he has nearly tripled contributed support, raising more than $82 million annually, in just seven years. As its chief development officer, David led The Nature Conservancy’s Campaign for Conservation, a $1 billion effort to conserve 250 landscape-scale sites in the U.S. and 27 other countries. A five-year effort that began in 1998, the campaign concluded in September 2003 having raised over $1.4 billion. David was selected as the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) DC Chapter’s Outstanding Fundraising Professional in 2011, and is a current member of the AFP International Board of Directors.
