On April 2, Amy Leach read from her book of essays, The Things That Are, as part of our Creative Writers Reading series. Watch Video. 


On April 4, Professor Margot Sempreora gave a talk on the film Double Indemnity before a screening of the film as part of the 2013 Greater St. Louis Humanities Festival.

On May 16, Professor Karla Armbruster gave a lecture entitled "The Echoing Call of the Wild: Dogs and Their Wolfish Ancestry in Literature” at the Edsel and Eleanor Ford House in Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan, as part of a speaker series sponsored by the Michigan Humane Society and Animals and Society Institute.
