“Un vocabolario può contenere solo una piccola parte del patrimonio di una lingua.”
“A dictionary can embrace only a small part of the vast tapestry of a language.”
- Giacomo Leopardi
Webster University proudly offers Italian as one of its 11 languages, giving students the chance to internationalize their degree with knowledge of a romance language spoken by over 60 million people.
Why study Italian at Webster University?
- Study abroad. Short-term study abroad programs take our students learning Italian to the Webster Campus in Geneva, Switzerland. Hybrid courses also offer students the chance to travel for 10 days in Florence or Rome.
- Photography scholarship. Each year, four St. Louis photography students receive a scholarship to study in Italy.
- Expert faculty. Our Italian instructor, who has been teaching at Webster since 2006, is a native Italian, and is dedicated to helping students develop real-world knowledge of Italian language and culture.
Society of International Languages and Cultures: SILC hosts multiple entertaining and culturally-focused events throughout the school
year, and every event is open for anyone to attend.
