Jennifer Broeder holds a BSN from SIU-Edwardsville, and her MSN and PhD in Nursing from Saint Louis University. She began her career as a registered nurse at St. Louis Children's Hospital where she was a Neonatal ICU nurse, nurse educator, and a clinical nurse specialist. After attaining her MSN, she taught nursing of children courses at SIU-E School of Nursing before coming to Webster University as an adjunct faculty member in 1995. In 2002, she began teaching full time at Webster University in the Nursing Department where she served as the MSN Program Coordinator from 2003-2010 and Chair from 2010-13. From 2013-2015 she served the College of Arts & Sciences as the Associate Dean for Professional Programs, and from 2015 through June 2017 as the Interim Dean for the entire College of Arts & Sciences.

In the fall of 2017, Dr. Broeder looks forward to returning to the nursing department as Professor in Nursing. Her teaching interests include nursing theory, research, and nursing leadership, and her research interest is mothering preterm infants. When not working, she enjoys exercising, gardening, cooking, and traveling to visit her sons and their families.
