Biography

Diane Clark joined Webster University as the Counseling Program Coordinator for the Myrtle Beach Metropolitan Campus in 2015.  After twenty-five years as a public school teacher and working in the business world, Dr. Clark earned her MS in Counseling from the Canisius College of Buffalo in 2000.  While working as a school counselor in a high school for at risk youth, she went on to earn her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2006.  Dr. Clark serves on the editorial board for the Adultspan Journal, official journal of the Association for Adult Development and Aging.  She is an active member of the American Counseling Association, the Association for Counselor Educators and Supervisors, the Southern Association of Counselor Educators and Supervisors, and is a past-President of the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia.  Dr. Clark has presented her work at numerous regional, national, and international conferences.  She has several publications, including an entry in The SAGE Encyclopedia of Marriage, Family, and Couples Counseling, due to be published in late 2015. Dr. Clark is best known for being an advocate for the profession of counseling and as a mentor to her students. Her research interests include the grief process and grief counseling, counseling with veterans and active military and military families, issues in clinical supervision and counseling service delivery, counselor education pedagogy, and at-risk youth.
