Kyle Haynes, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of International Relations at Webster University. He received his PhD in 2012 from the University of Virginia, and his work has been published in International Security, International Studies Quarterly, and The Journal of Conflict Resolution. His work has also received financial support from the Eisenhower Institute at Gettysburg College. Haynes’ primary research agenda examines the dynamics of great power decline and the conditions under which states voluntarily withdraw overseas military commitments. He has also written extensively on the domestic political forces that condition international conflict propensities. In the classroom, Dr. Haynes has enjoyed teaching or designing courses on international security, international relations theory, and research methods.
