Philippa Winkler, PhD, obtained a PhD in Policy Studies and International Relations, with a focus on United States foreign policy, political economy, and the Middle East and Central Asia, from the University of Bristol, the United Kingdom. She has taught at the undergraduate and graduate levels since 2002. Her undergraduate degree is in History from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in the United Kingdom. Born in the United Kingdom, she has lived in the United States for most of her adult life. She was the co-editor of one of the first books on Gulf War 1, published in 1994. Her PhD research focused on Gulf War 1 and United Nations sanctions, using analytical and qualitative methodologies based on the theory of feminist international relations. Two of her books have been published; the second is in libraries of such universities as Yale, Harvard, Oxford, and Cambridge. She has written numerous articles that have been published in peer-reviewed journals. For fun, she is a songwriter.
