Welcome! Willkommen! Bonjour! ¡Hola! Konichiwa!
The Department of International Languages and Cultures at Webster University is recognized for its diverse curriculum, outstanding faculty, and international course offerings. We have a variety of majors, minors, and certificates to meet student's needs and prepare for their careers. Students explore the world of language study with us and, whether students choose to have a double major along with language, or delve into more language courses, we help them find their interests and develop them.
Students in this department receive a strong liberal arts education and excellent
career preparation for a global job market, because they acquire language skills as
well as an international understanding and perspective, and apply that knowledge in
today's world. The more complete "world view" students have, the better prepared they
are to meet the challenges of the future. In addition, students develop invaluable
skills in reading, writing, public speaking, and critical thinking.
We offer a variety of opportunities, such as traditional daytime as well as evening courses, weekend courses, exchanges with Argentina and France, and internships in China, Germany, Mexico and Japan through Webster University's International Business Internship Exchange. You'll also find culture courses in English.
Whether you need a few courses or a degree, we can help you achieve your goals!
In today's global economy, it's important to be familiar with languages and cultures
other than our own. That's because what happens in one part of the world affects us
all, no matter where we live. Whether your goal is to earn a degree in a foreign language
or to satisfy your curiosity about another culture, ILC is ready to help.
