Combined Degree: BS in Accounting/MS in Finance

Webster’s BS Accounting/MS in Finance accelerated combined degree allows students to complete both degrees in a shorter period of time, saving both time and money. In addition, upon graduation, students will have completed the 150 credit hours required to sit for the CPA exam.

How it works

To graduate, students must complete 152 credit hours, reducing the number of required credit hours for both degrees.

Job Outlook

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, accountants and auditors who are CPAs have a step up on other candidates in terms of employment. Applicants who have completed their master’s degree in either accounting or in business administration with a focus in accounting also have an advantage (BLS, 2018).

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) has projected employment for graduates in various fields of finance to grow 11% from 2016-2026, faster than the average for all occupations. A growing range of financial products and the need for in-depth knowledge of geographic regions are expected to lead to strong employment growth (BLS, April, 2018).
