WebNet+ Participation Information
In order to provide enhanced learning opportunities for Webster University students, many of our seminars will be conducted both live in the classroom as well as broadcasted live as a Webnet+ Course. This allows Webster students from any location to enroll in the seminar and participate virtually in seminar discussions and activities. Webnet+ Courses are synchronous, which means that students are expected to login and participate throughout the entire session through technology such as WebEx or Vidyo.
How to Participate in Walker Seminars with WebNet+:
Students enrolled in a Webnet+ seminar will receive a series of emails with instructions
on how to participate virtually. Emails will be sent to the official Webster University
email address so students should be sure to check their email regularly.
A few days before the start of the live portion of the seminar, students will receive an email inviting them to join the WebEx or Vidyo Meeting. This email will include the link, meeting number and password in order to join the seminar virtually.
Students are required to complete a system check prior to the live session.
Note, most Webnet+ seminars are schedule on Saturday’s from 8:00 – 5:00 pm CST but students should confirm times in advance to avoid missing class time.
All students are required to sign in online at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the seminar in order to address any technical concerns.
Technology requirements: Students participating in a Webnet+ course will need internet access, a computer with a web camera, speakers, and a microphone. This allows the student to be seen and heard while they participate in the session.
Any student taking a seminar via WebEx who is not familiar with WebEx is strongly recommend to visit the WebEx site (https://websteru.webex.com/) and review the Support Center resources in order to conduct a set-up of WebEx on their computer prior to the start of the seminar.
Any student taking a seminar via Vidyo who is not familiar with Vidyo is strongly recommend to visit the Vidyo website (www.vidyo.com) to learn more about using Vidyo prior to the start of the seminar.
WorldClassRoom: Students will have access to the WorldClassRoom site for the seminar a week in advance of the live session. This is where all pre-reading and assignment information can be found. Students are expected to complete all reading and pre-work in advance of the live portion of the seminar.
