Mark Govoni

  • Dean of students and vice president of student affairs from 1986–1995
  • Mark laid the foundation for much of student life at Webster.
  • Led the planning and development for the building of the University Center
  • Worked with faculty to help establish the first freshman seminar program
  • Laid the groundwork for housing expansion and improvements
  • Hired the first full-time director for the Office of Minority Affairs (now the MCISA)
  • Played a key role in the development of Athletics from a fledgling program into one that has become the top program in the SLIAC
  • Led the effort to establish a student leadership development program, which eventually became WebsterLEADS
  • Proposed the idea for the first Webster Works Worldwide day of community service
  • Dean of Students at Carleton College

  • Dean of Students at Philadelphia University
  • Recognized with the establishment of the Mark Govoni Emerging Leader Award, established by SGA in 1995
