    How do I search for a student employment job on My Career Connection?
    (Work Study & Budget Positions)

    1. You Must be registered on My Career Connection. (To register, please click here.)
    2. After creating your account and receiving your username and      password, log-in to begin searching.
    3. Click on "Job Positions" under the "Jobs and Internships" tab.
    4. Under the "Show Me" drop down menu, choose "All Job Lisitings".
    5. Under the "position type" drop down menu, choose "Student Employment (Work Study/Budget Only)".
    6. Click "Search".
    7. To review the job description, application method and contact person, click on the job title.

    The Alzheimer�s Association, St. Louis Chapter is offering work study placement to Webster University students who are interested in performing light office and clerical support at our St. Louis county office.

    The Alzheimer�s Association is well-regarded in St. Louis for its varied and rewarding student opportunities. Approximately 40 students per year from all area universities will choose the Alzheimer�s Association as their preferred practicum or internship site. Several more students will join as us through work-study placement. Our atmosphere is positive, our work is meaningful, and our staff is committed to helping individuals and families impacted by Alzheimer�s disease to make the progression smoother.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:
    Assistance with light office and clerical work, telephone and office reception, assistance with library and education materials, mail processing, and more. Our organization is an office environment with very little manual labor.

    General Description: Your primary responsibility is to raise money (and brand awareness) for BHGH. Tactics will include E-Commerce merchandising, viral & guerrilla marketing, website maintenance, merchandising at special events and newsletters. Specific Duties
    1. Create & maintain E-Commerce distribution channel i.e., online auction sites, BHGH website, etc.
    2. Solicit (donated) merchandise from businesses and individuals on behalf of BHGH. Efforts will include face-to-face sales calls, direct mail and telephone solicitation.
    3. Prepare descriptions and pictures of merchandise for auction catalog and online marketing purposes.
    4. Maintain files & records related to merchandising activities i.e., inventory, shipping, sales, etc.

    The Center for Citizen Leadership is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on empowering wounded and disabled veterans as citizen leaders and uniting veterans and their fellow citizens in shared service to the nation.     The Center for Citizen Leadership (CCL) seeks a talented, creative, and self-motivated student to design and implement the organization's website. The student who is assigned this task will work within the work study requirements.

    Qualifications:

    RECREATION AIDE/AFTER-SCHOOL SUPERVISOR: Assists in supervision of the public, primarily junior high age youth, after school. Directs inquiries to proper staff person; assists with implementation of recreation programs and special events offered by the Recreation Department as needed, including once per month Recess 101 (early dismissal days from school). May assist Recreation Supervisor, Fitness Manager, Facility Manager, Assistant Rink Manager or Recreation Manager in projects other than those program-related as needed. Cross-trained to provide custodial/set-up needs. (Note: Perfect for someone entering the fields of education or social work; limited opportunity for study.)

    SKATE PARK ATTENDANT:
    Responsible for maintaining a safe, healthy, and enjoyable skateboarding and in-line skating environment at an outdoor skate park. Attendant maintains order, enforces rules and policies of the department, ensures participants have paid, picks up area and may have light first aid responsibilities. Weekday evenings (4:00-8:00 p.m.) and weekend hours (1:00�4:00 p.m.) Direct supervision is received from the Recreation Manager. (Note: Optimal opportunity for study during sessions.) FITNESS ATTENDANT Fitness Center opens mid-November 2007. Staffs the fitness center area to include greeting customers, answering phone, assisting guests on the equipment in the fitness center; keeping the fitness center clean (wiping down machines, vacuuming, etc.); monitoring guests� use of equipment; directing inquiries to proper staff person; any other duties as assigned by Fitness Supervisor.     ICE RINK FACILITY ATTENDANT:
    Responsible for maintaining a safe, healthy, enjoyable and professional skating environment. Duties may include; maintaining order on the ice, assisting skaters, handing out skates and returning shoes; janitorial/custodial cleaning; light mechanical work; equipment operation; opening and closing of building; minimal first aid and direct contact with the public. Late afternoon, evening and weekend hours. Direct supervision is received from the Facility Supervisor or Manager on Duty who assigns duties and inspects quality of work. Must be able to ice skate.     RINK CASHIER:
    Responsible for enforcing a friendly, efficient and professional public admission process. Duties include: taking rink admissions, program registration, light custodial and office work and direct contact with the public. Required skills include; operation of cash register and calculator and basic math. Late afternoon, evening and weekend hours. Direct supervision is received from the Facility Supervisor or Manager on duty who assigns duties and inspects quality of work. (Note: some opportunity for study.)

    INCLUSION ASSISTANT:
    Assists child(ren) with physical, developmental and/or behavioral disabilities with planned activities or devises alternative activity in the event child is unable to participate in planned activity. Supports child physically and emotionally to aid inclusion. Maintains contact with parent regarding progress, problems, solutions. May lower participant to staff ratio in age group when 1 on 1 is not necessary. Redirects behavior and disciplines appropriately. (Note: sporadic hours; only as needed. No personal care e.g. changing diapers, feeding tube, etc. required)
