    Ages 7 and up (average age range is 7-10 years)

    Fees

    $330 for the two semester program (may be paid in installments)

    A non-refundable registration fee of $25 is assessed once per academic year per student upon enrollment.

    Audition
    Requirements

    All major scales up to 2 sharps and 2 flats (no minor scales), 1 octave

    An unaccompanied solo of the student’s choice that best demonstrates his/her ability

    Excerpts assigned by the Community Music School (mailed on August 21, 2009)

    Sight reading in rhythms of half, quarter, and eighth notes may be requested

    Violin, Viola, Cello, Bass

    This beginning level ensemble for strings emphasizes reading skills. Members must have a thorough and accurate knowledge of first position, a familiarity with letter names of notes, and show good left and right hand playing positions.

    Suzuki Book equivalents are Violin Books 2 and 3 and Cello Book 2. Seating is on a rotating basis.
