Many students are highly motivated by group instruction and enjoy the social interaction it provides. Students learn simple pieces from a variety of styles in preparation for individual instruction.

After two semesters of instruction, students are encouraged to progress to individual instruction.

Prerequisite for students enrolling in small group instruction:

  • Student must be new to CMS or;
  • Student must be a current CMS student who would like to study a new instrument or voice.

The Community Music School offers the following Group Instruction Classes for beginning piano students:

Day/Time: Saturday, 10–11 a.m.

  • Fall: 9/22/07–1/19/08
  • Spring: 1/26/08–5/17/08

Class Size: 4 minimum–6 maximum

Location: Loretto-Hilton Center piano lab, Room 17

Tuition: $225 per 15-week semester

Note: Classes are filled on a first come, first served basis upon receipt of registration form at the School office. Mail-in registrations must be received one week prior to the walk-in registration period, or you may register in person during registration week. Students will receive written and/or telephone confirmation of enrollment prior to the first class.
