In cooperation with the Webster University Music Department, the Community Music School is offering a Beginning Piano Project. Through this program, a beginning piano student may study with a piano performance major completing his or her piano pedagogy training.

CMS beginning piano students will pay a reduced tuition to work with a “teacher-in-training” for 12 weeks in the Spring 2008 semester. At the end of the spring semester, the CMS student may continue with that teacher in the following year through the Community Music School at an increased tuition, or have priority in being placed with a CMS faculty member at the regular CMS tuition.

This is a great opportunity to experience piano instruction at a reduced cost with undergraduate or graduate piano performance majors from Webster University.

The following guidelines apply:

  1. The participant must be a beginning piano student,
  2. The participant must be new to the CMS or studying piano as a second instrument as a beginner, and
  3. The participant must commit to the full 12-week spring semester.

  • 30 min. lesson/12 weeks: $204
