Commencement 2019 Ceremonies

The 100th Annual Commencement honoring all 2018–2019 graduates from August, October and December 2018 and March and May 2019 will be held Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the Muny in Forest Park.

Commencement Processional

The procession of graduates will begin promptly at 8:50 am.

Graduates should arrive at their school or college check-in station by 8 am.
All check-in stations will open at 7:30 am.

Graduates should allow plenty of time (50–60 minutes) to park and walk to the Muny.

The graduates will process in with their individual school or college.

Graduates will gather at their individual school or college check-in station. Guests of these graduates may take their seats in the main Muny theatre upon arrival. The diagram on the last page of the Commencement program shows where the graduates of each school and college will be seated.

Guests of the graduates should be seated by 8:45 a.m. as the aisles must be clear for the Academic Procession.

Commencement Ceremony

The Webster University Commencement Ceremony for the entire University is held in
the main Muny Theatre at 9:30 am. The all-university ceremony is where graduates
and their guests hear the speeches from the President, Provost, the Commencement
speaker, and others along with the presentation of the honorary doctorate. This is the
ceremony where the official degree conferral takes place.

The names of each graduate will be read at their individual school or college recognition
ceremony, which will take place immediately following the all-university ceremony.

Commencement Recessional

At the conclusion of the all-university ceremony, guests remain seated. Each school and
college will exit to the location of their individual recognition

Leigh Gerdine College of Fine Arts East Pavilion

Theatre Drive Stage is located in front of the Muny Box Office on the lower level.
West Pavilion is located on the grounds west of the Muny Theatre.


Diplomas for May graduates will be mailed 10–12 weeks after the May graduation date of May 20, 2019.


Tickets are NOT required for any Commencement events and there is no limit to the number of guests.
