Steps to Graduation
1. Submit a Petition to Graduate
All students completing all degree requirements in May 2013 must fill out a Petition to Graduate.
Petitions are due Monday, February 11, 2013. Undergraduate petitions should be submitted to the academic departments and graduate petitions to Academic Affairs (extended campuses), Academic Advising (St. Louis area and Online Students), School of Education (all students in the School of Education).

2. Clear Business Office Accounts
Students who have completed all of their academic requirements to graduate must clear
their Student Business Office account balance prior to diploma and transcript release.

3. Complete RSVP Card
Complete RSVP card for the Commencement Ceremony at The Muny on Saturday, May 11, 2013. Return RSVP card via email or to the Registrar’s Office, 470 E. Lockwood, St. Louis, MO 63119 by April 5, 2013.
Extended Campus Graduates
Notify your campus director by February 26, 2013 to submit your name on the Commencement
Participation Form if you intend to participate in the St. Louis Commencement ceremony.
Fully Online Graduates
Contact Elizabeth Stacey in the Online Learning Center at ehamtil37@webster.edu.
Graduates/Guests With Disabilities
Contact Kevin Pelzel at 314-246-7700 with questions regarding special accommodations
needed for the commencement ceremonies. Be sure to also indicate your needs on the
RSVP card.
4. Purchase Your Cap and Gown
If you are located in the St. Louis area and participating in the St. Louis Commencement:
St. Louis area graduates may purchase their caps and gowns at the University Bookstore, 554 Garden Avenue, Webster Groves, Missouri during the Grad Salute Days. Join in the celebration! Enter to win prizes and don’t miss special graduation pricing on Jostens class rings. Take care of all your graduation needs on these days!
Grad Salute Days
Wednesday, March 27: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Thursday, March 28: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
If you cannot attend the Grad Salute, caps and gowns will be available during regular
business hours at the University Bookstore until May 10th, however sizes and availability
may be limited.
Bookstore Business Hours
Monday – Thursday: 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
If you are located outside of the St. Louis area and participating in the St. Louis Commencement:
Visit the Jostens website. For any questions, call Jostens' Consumer Contact Center at 1-800-854-7464.
If you are participating in an extended campus graduation ceremony:
All students walking in graduation ceremonies at an extended campus should visit the
Jostens website and follow instructions on how to order a cap & gown for your location's graduation. For
any questions, call Jostens' Consumer Contact Center at 1-800-854-7464. To order Announcements and other graduation accessories, go to www.herffjones.com/college.
5. Refer to the Commencement Website
Refer to this website for information on photos, directions, parking, hotels, and
lots more.
6. Distribute Maps
Distribute copies of the map to your commencement ceremony to friends and family with your Commencement announcements. The map shows where to enter The MUNY, your check-in area, the location and time of your individual School/College ceremony. These maps contain all the information you and your guests will need to navigate your way through Commencement day.
The guests with special needs map will designate wheelchair seating. Note that wheelchair seating can accommodate one
guest with a wheelchair and one additional guest.
7. Celebrate!
Celebrate the completion of your Webster University degree (and the previous 6 steps!) at the 94th Annual Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 11, 2013!
