Professional Experience

Barry Smith is a seasoned sales and marketing professional who served in many capacities during his 26-year career at Assistant Professor Barry smith with Big Jake, an Anheuser-Busch clydesdaleAnheuser-Busch. These included brand management, retail marketing, trade marketing and communications.

Smith's longest and most recent assignment was Director, Sales and Marketing Communications. In this role, he oversaw all wholesaler directed communications including A-B’s wholesaler conventions, excellence programs, Busch satellite network video production studios, wholesaler Internet portal and weekly e-mail newsletters.

Prior to A-B, Smith worked for Frankel & Company, 1989 Ad Age Agency of the Year. He was the senior account executive for McDonald's Corporation. He oversaw new products marketing and promotional activities and national rollout of youth promotions such as Happy Meals.

Barry Smith has been teaching graduate courses in the School of Communications at Webster University as an adjunct instructor since 1994.

He and his wife Sandy, a Webster alumna, are the proud parents of sons Gregory and Andrew.
