Professional Experience

Susan has more than 25 years of administrative support experience working for organizations such as AT&T, GTE, the US Department of Defense and the State of Florida.

Prior to working at Webster University, Susan was the executive assistant to the Orange County, Fla. fire chief for six years. The Orange County Fire Department is the 24th largest in the country, serving 800,000 people with 1,200 employees.

In her role as assistant to the dean, Susan Napoleon has wide-ranging responsibilities. She manages strategic initiatives and supports the development of relationships with alumni and business professionals. She handles projects as diverse as event planning, space usage, faculty contracts, and office moves. Napoleon is the liaison between Dean Rothenbuhler and other people and departments within the university. She is an invaluable resource for the faculty, staff and students of the School of Communications. She was the recipient of the 2013 Staff Member of the Year Award.

Napoleon has a daughter, who recently graduated from Webster University with an MA in international relations, and two married sons with growing families.
