About

Highlights of Cox's recent academic service include advising students who support the Galaxy, the student radio station, serving on the Publication Board, which oversees the publication of The Journal, the student newspaper, and being selected as a member of the 2012 Global Leadership Academy.

In the professional arena, she continues to lead workshops on a variety of topics throughout North America. The workshops help journalists and other industry professionals improve their digital storytelling and news marketing skills. She serves the broadcast journalism industry in a number of innovative efforts to help keep programming relevant, all with an eye to the future of broadcast journalism.

She has worked in television news broadcasting for more than 20 years. Her former positions have ranged from reporter to news director to executive producer in St. Louis, Minneapolis, Atlanta, and Phoenix. Cox has won multiple journalism awards. They include Emmys,® the Edward R. Murrow Award, Press Club Award, Best of the West Award, and Associated Press Award.
