How should I dress?

A: Temperatures in the production studios and classrooms can vary in the summer, so please dress accordingly. We recommend that you wear shorts, jeans, t-shirts, etc. Your attire should be appropriate, comfortable and casual.

What kind of shoes should I wear?

A: Please wear comfortable shoes. We recommend that you do not wear flip-flops, mules, slides, clogs, and other loose fitting shoe styles. We would prefer that you wear closed-toe shoes to avoid injuries to your feet.

How will I find my way around campus?

A: You may find this campus map helpful throughout the time you are visiting Webster University and the School of Communications. It includes the locations of buildings, parking lots, and surrounding streets.

Where should I be dropped off and picked up?

A: If you will be attending the Sci-Fi Media Production Camp, you can be dropped off and picked up in parking lot H (please refer to the campus map). The entrance to parking lot H is located off Big Bend Blvd. between building #13 (Hunt House) and building #23 (Online Learning Center). Parking lot H can also be accessed from Edgar Road. This entrance is near building #11 (Grant Gymnasium). Sidewalks close to parking lot H lead to Sverdrup Hall.

If you will be attending the Music Production Camp, you can be dropped off and picked up in Parking Lot F. It is located off Big Bend Blvd. between building #7 (Sverdrup Hall) and building #31 (Visual Arts Studio).

What if I will driving myself and need to park my car?

A: If you are driving yourself, you may use the parking garage located at 568 Garden Ave. It is building #10 on the map (Garden Park Plaza). Please clearly display the dash plaque sent to you by email. This is required to park in the garage. It is a short walk from Garden Park Plaza to Sverdrup Hall.

Where will I check in once I get there?

A: If you are attending the Sci-Fi Media Production Camp, check-in will take place on Monday, June 16 between 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. in the west lobby of Sverdrup Hall (#28) located at 8300 Big Bend Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63119.

If you are attending the Music Production Camp, check-in will take place on Monday, June 23 between 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. in the west lobby of Sverdrup Hall (#28) located at 8300 Big Bend Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63119.

Should I bring my own lunch and beverages?

A: Please remember to bring your own food and drinks. They will not be provided by Webster University. You will have access to water fountains and vending machines throughout the day.

Can I bring snacks and beverages with me during sessions?

A: You will not be allowed to take food or drinks into any of the production studios. There are areas in the building where you will be able to eat or drink during breaks.

Will there be a place to store my belongings?

Lockers will be available for storage of your personal items such as backpacks, electronics, and food. We encourage you to use the lockers if you choose to bring personal belongings. Please bring your own lock as one will not be provided. Webster University will not be responsible for any lost or stolen items.

What will I be learning?

A: If you're attending the Sci-Fi Media Production Camp, you will learn scriptwriting, animation, and video production techniques.

If you're attending the Music Production Camp, you will learn how to create an audio CD.

What are the summer camp hours?

A: Sci-Fi Media Production Camp and Music Production Camps meet from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day they are scheduled.
