Save the dates November 12-18 for Communication Careers Week 2018

Communication Careers Week is five days of engaging events that bring together students, alumni, faculty, staff, and industry professionals to share and to expand their knowledge of the ever-changing landscape of the communication industry.

The week-long experience provides interactive sessions and professional perspectives. It gives students opportunities to network and to explore their career interests and areas for possible future exploration.

Monday, Nov. 6, 5:30-7:00 p.m., Emerson Library Conference Room

  • “The Power of Audience Building Through Crowdfunding in the Digital Age,” by Cady McClain, Emmy award-winning actor, director, producer, and author; director of Seeing is Believing: Women Direct (screening at the Saint Louis International Film Festival)

  • “Ten Fundamental Truths That Won’t Change with Creative Agency Trends,” by Gus Hattrich (BA ’98) and Paradowski Creative, followed by a networking reception

  • “Living in a Van in the Desert and Other Ways to Explore Your Career,” by Django Greenblatt-Seay, multi-media artist and social-media professional, Union Pacific Corporate Communications

Thursday, Nov. 9, 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., University Sunnen Lounge and Commons

  • Internship Expo

Friday, Nov. 10, 3-5 p.m., Winifred Moore Auditorium

  • Cinematography for Independent Filmmaking with Director of Photography Autumn Eakin, (BA ‘04) cinematographer for The Light of the Moon (screening at the Saint Louis International Film Festival)
  • 18 alumni and friends of the school visiting classes throughout the week for guest lectures

Alumni, members of the public, faculty, staff, and the Webster community, as well as students, are invited to the speaking events and to Opportunities 17 and Internship Expo, as well.  Please do come by.
