Webster Students to Host 6th Annual International Animation and Interactive Media Festival

Kinematifest is an international animation and interactive media festival planned and hosted by students studying animation and interactive digital media in the School of Communications at Webster University. Kinematifest 6 will be held on Friday, April 19 and Saturday, April 20, 2013.

John Canemaker, award-winning animator, author, educator, and animation historian, will be the 2013 keynote speaker. On Friday, April 19, at 7 pm, Canemaker will present a selection of his celebrated films including his Academy Award® winning short “The Moon and The Son: An Imagined Conversation.”

Canemaker will also participate in a workshop on action analysis in animation on April 20 at 1:30 pm. Because of space limitations, reservations are required for the workshop. RSVP at http://www.kdhx.org/mediaarts.

The workshop will be held in Room 123 of the Sverdrup Business & Technology Complex, 8300 Big Bend Blvd. This event is co-sponsored by the Webster Film Series, Kinematifest, KDHX, and The Missouri Arts Council.

Other events include screenings of festival submissions, a panel discussion on interactive media, interactive keynote speaker Ben Triola of Happy Badger Studio, and a Windsor McKay program (McKay was an early animator).
