Four Webster University Students Win Press Club Scholarships

ST. LOUIS (June 18, 2018) – Four Webster University School of Communications students were among the 15 winners of St. Louis Press Club Scholarships at a special awards luncheon at the Press Club on June 12. Scholarship winners will use their awards at seven different universities, including Webster University, the University of Missouri-Columbia and Vanderbilt University

Alex Zivic and Jeffrey Salas at 2018 St. Louis Press Club Scholarship Luncheon Webster University students who won scholarships:

Rea Bedalli of Kirkwood, Mo., won the Joe Bonwich Journalism Scholarship for $1,000. Bedalli is a junior with a double major in in advertising and marketing communications and psychology. In addition to her studies, she has worked with Amnesty International and the Immigrant and Refugee Women’s Program, a St. Louis-based nonprofit organization that helps women arriving from foreign countries to make a new life in the United States.

Danielle Pauly of St. Louis won the Press Club Media Internship Scholarship for $1,000. Pauly is majoring in public relations and is interning with the St. Louis Press Club. She plans to complete her degree in December 2018.

Jeffrey Salas of Belleville, Ill. won the West End Word/Webster University Scholarship for $1,000 for the 2018-2019 academic year. Salas is earning a master’s degree in advertising and marketing communications. He led the launch of Webster’s first year orientation in WorldClassRoom and works with the University’s Office 365 Evaluation Team.

Alex Zivic of St. Louis won the Webster-Kirkwood Times/Webster University Scholarship for $1,000 for the 2018-2019 academic year. Zivic majors in public relations with a minor in professional writing. He also plans to complete his degree in December 2018. He is president of Webster’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA).
