Student Wins 2018 Oregon International Film Award

ST. LOUIS (December 19, 2018) – Eva Moentmann, a School of Communications student, won an Oregon International Film Award,® among Oregon's most prestigious film honors in independent cinema and screenwriting.

Moentmann is a senior from Columbia, Mo. majoring in film, television and video production. The film she directed, The Talk Revised, received a Platinum Award in the category of Student Films. Platinum is the highest of four recognition levels at the Oregon International Film Awards.

The film’s crew included the following SOC students and alumni:

  • Ervin Dubo of St. Ann, Mo., a junior majoring in film, television and film production
  • Celia Plummer of St. Charles, Mo., a senior majoring in film, television and film production
  • Ryland Knifong-Jones of Columbia, Mo., a junior majoring in film, television and film production
  • Kirby Weber of Mexico, Mo., an alumnus with a BA in games and game design from May 2018
  • Tim Mitten of St. Louis, Mo., an alumnus with a BA film production from May 2017

Awards are announced annually. 2018 awards were announced November 1.
