Student Successes

Megan Favignano is the Great Plains College Editor-in-Chief of the Year. The Journal was named College Newspaper and Website of the Year. Dan Bauman was a finalist for College Writer of the Year. Best of the Great Plains includes college newspapers from eight states. Congratulations to the entire staff.

Students in the ADVT 4190 Advertising Campaigns class placed second at the National Student Advertising Competition (NSAC) regionals in Kansas City, Mo., on April 11.

A video produced by Craig Merkle, an intern at FOX 2 Now, was published on their website.Media communications faculty and students from the Vienna and Geneva campuses worked together on a video production project at the United Nations.

Student Caitlin Zera's film, End of the Line, advanced to the annual Whitaker St. Louis International Film Festival (SLIFF).

A School of Communications student-produced video went viral, making it to websites around the world. Highlights included AdWeek, Huffington Post, and Buzzfeed.

The work of four School of Communications students, Sam Baiamonte, Ryan Caldwell, Crawford (Ford) Fanter, and Caitlin Zera, was included in the episode Frames: Webster Student Films: A Thriller, A Homeless Competition, A Doc and a Comedy that aired on Tuesday, September 10, 2013.

Several School of Communications students entered work in the St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase. 

Students from Webster University's department of audio aesthetics and technology produced a tribute concert in honor of the 45th anniversary of the last live concert by the Beatles, known as the "Rooftop Concert." They received TV and print coverage of the event
