Message from University Leadership |
January 12, 2015
To the Webster University Community:
The year of 2015 brings renewed opportunity for our communities in St. Louis and
beyond. Webster University’s commitment to diversity and inclusion has never been
stronger or more relevant than it is today. As the world continues to grapple with
unprecedented issues, Webster University remains passionate about our mission to transform
students for global citizenship and individual excellence.
Tolerance, forgiveness, compassion and civil discourse will continue to provide the
direction forward. Higher education provides the broader understanding and platform
for such discussions to take place. Our communities are strong and resilient and together
we will grow from our collective experiences. Webster University will continue to
play our role in developing our students to lead the nation and the world to a greater
level of understanding.
When asked recently to provide some thoughts as to how our local St. Louis community
might best move forward, we were reminded of the words of 18th Century theologian,
John Wesley.
“Do all the good you can. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all
the places you can. At all the times you can. To all the people you can. As long as
ever you can.”
As we prepare to enter our second century as an institution in November 2015, we
recommit to our global responsibilities and noble vision and mission. By helping our
students succeed, we will help our communities around the world move forward with
intent and resolve to forge stronger relations with one another.
