CMS Orchestra and Ensembles Staff Position Opening

Webster University-Community Music School
Part-time Position

The Community Music School of Webster University is seeking a part-time Orchestra and Ensembles Representative based in the CMS Center on the Webster University campus in Webster Groves. The position is responsible for supporting conductors; coordinating auditions, rehearsals and concerts; working with area music educators to complete instrumentation; arranging coaches; and entering student enrollment data in CARS/student management system. S(he) serves as a liaison to  students and parents and administers the policies and procedures of the CMS. This position coordinates the String Orchestra summer camp. The Representative interviews, hires, trains, and supervises work study student(s) needed to assist with orchestra/ensemble responsibilities.

This position is supervised by the CMS Director and requires experience in or strong knowledge of music; excellent communication and people skills; good relationship with area music educators; strong work ethic; and experience in data entry, Microsoft Word and Excel programs.  Minimum of Bachelor’s degree required.  During academic year: Monday-Thursday, generally 2-7 p.m. - hours vary with specific ensembles, plus some Sundays. Some weekends required for dress rehearsals and concerts.
