Summer Composition Intensive
COMMUNITY MUSIC SCHOOL
Got music in your head but don’t know how to get it on paper? Do you want to hear
how your composition sounds when performed live by professional musicians? The Summer
Composition Intensive is just for you! By the end of two weeks, you will have an arsenal
of new skills and resources, a recorded performance of your original composition,
and new friends!
Unique features of the CMS Intensive include meeting and working with St. Louis area composers and musicians. Students will utilize the Webster University Department of Music’s computer lab. Students will work in groups according to experience level (from those needing the basics of notation, transposition, and scoring, to students with prior composing experience). All participants must be able to read music and play an instrument or sing.
Students must attend the full length of the Intensive for their works to be performed and recorded.
