PHIL 4050 Mind, Matter, and Space

What sorts of things are in the universe? Material mechanisms? Mental concepts? Is one category expendable, or do we need both? We will consider conflicting views about ideas and mechanisms–mainly in the early modern period–and their consequences, especially for thinking about space–including cyberspace.
