WEBSTER COMPUTER CENTER
MISSION


The mission of the University Computer Center:

To provide central computing and telecomputing support to the administrative functions of the University and the academic mission of the University.
The Computer Center works closely with the Academic Resource Center, which is directly responsible for Academic Computing and the office of Academic Affairs, which manages all remote local area networks.

The Computer Center is responsible for:

  1. The design and evolution of the university’s backbone, composed of Wide Area Network, Local Area Networks, and servers , which support the University Worldwide.
  2. The implementation and development of the University’s administrative systems.
  3. The installation, service and backup up functions of all equipment on the network, except for Mac’s which are serviced by Academic Resources.
  4. Assisting in the formulation of university policies regarding security, privacy and proper use of university information assets.
