The Confucius Institute at Webster University was named "Confucius Institute of the Year" for 2012 and 2014 by CI Headquarters. The dedicated, enthusiastic staff, volunteer teachers, and visiting scholars continue to bring Chinese culture and language to our community in beautiful and engaging ways.
Webster University is proud to host Missouri's first Confucius Institute and to provide the St. Louis community with opportunities to learn about Chinese language and culture. The Confucius Institute at Webster University offers language instruction and resources to area elementary and high schools, to Webster University, and to adult continuing education programs, as well as hosts cultural events and enrichment experiences for children and adults alike.
The Confucius Institute at Webster University is a cooperative project between Webster University, Beijing Language and Culture University and The Office of Chinese Language Council International of the Chinese Ministry of Education (HANBAN). Webster's Confucius Institute was established in 2008 and is part of an international network of Confucius Institutes in 66 countries across the globe dedicated to promote the understanding of Chinese language and culture and foster friendly relations between China and the world.
