Studying At Webster

Photo of Spitfire GrillWebster University's program in Theatre Studies & Dramaturgy challenges its students to analyze the content of performances as well as the contexts in which they occur. The program trains future theatre makers, educators, critics, and scholars. It also introduces other professional paths in the performing arts such as dramaturgy, play development, advocacy, and arts administration.

With a study abroad component and the potential for double majoring, the program prepares students for global citizenship and individual excellence. Offering students with a passion for theatre a stirring anchor for an outstanding liberal arts education, our curriculum encourages success in any field that values interpretation, exploration, and collaboration.

Webster's long-standing commitment to and excellence in creating theatre provides an exciting environment for its study. Moreover, the performing arts are thriving in St. Louis, and additional occasions for watching and participating in the making of theatre abound.

Our long-standing partnerships with nationally recognized organizations like The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis and Opera Theatre Saint Louis provide unparalleled opportunities for students to put into practice their critical and creative skills.
