2017 Graduation Information

Webster National Capital Region Commencement Ceremony - 2017

You will receive a confirmation email once your response form is received. Please include your current email address on the form.

St. Louis Commencement Ceremony:

Students who are graduating from the National Capital Region during the 2015 - Spring 2 2017 academic year are also invited to attend the 2015 St. Louis Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 7th.

If you wish to participate in the St. Louis ceremony, please indicate it on the response form by February 29th  so that your name can be included in their program.  More information here: http://www.webster.edu/commencement/steps-to-graduation/index.html

Cap and Gown plus Announcements:

Graduation regalia (cap, gown, and hood) can be ordered directly from Jostens via this website or by calling 1-800-854-7464. BY TBA.  They also have graduation announcements for those who are interested.  When you are ordering your cap and gown, you will need to select your major/curriculum from a drop down box. Options are listed below: 

  • Arts
    • Arts in Teaching
    • Business Administration
    • Education
    • Education Technology
    • Fine Arts
    • Health Administration
    • Music
    • Public Administration
    • Science
    • Science in Nursing

Webster NCR students completing graduate programs from the Webster University Walker School of Business and Technology should select either:

  • Arts (Business and Organizational Security Management, Health Care Management, Human Resources Development, Human Resources Management, Information Technology Management, International Business, International Relations, Management and Leadership, Marketing, Nonprofit Leadership, Procurement and Acquisitions Management)
  • Business Administration (MBA)
  • Science (Cybersecurity, Finance or Forensic Accounting)

NOTE:  It takes approximately 5 weeks for these items to ship; therefore, caps and gowns must be ordered by TBA to be received in time for graduation.

Class Rings:

Class rings may be ordered from Herff Jones online. You may also purchase them from another vendor of your choice that provides Webster University as an ordering option.

Petition to Graduate:

All students completing all degree requirements in May 2017 must fill out a Petition to Graduate form online. Once you submit your petition, you will receive a confirmation within 24 hours to your Webster email address. The official deadline to submit Petitions to Graduate is March 20, 2017 for those who intend to participate in the May Commencement; however students may still submit their petitions online. Students who are taking their final course during the Summer term, may still walk in the May commencement ceremony. If you wish to walk and still have one course to take, please complete a response from above and submit it to either your site or Allison Brooks, allisonbrooks16@webster.edu by April 7th to be included in the program and acquire a cap and gown.

Students do not receive a diploma at the commencement ceremony. All diplomas are mailed out by the Registrar’s office after being approved to graduate.
