Do not open any files attached to an e-mail from an unknown, suspicious, or untrustworthy source.

Do not open any file attached to an e-mail unless you know what it is, even if it appears to come from a friend or associate.

Do not open any files attached to an e-mail if the subject line is questionable or unexpected.

Do not download files or programs from Web sites except those official ones run by vendors.

Back up your files on a regular basis. Store your backup copy in
a separate location from your work files, preferably on removable
media or a network drive.

Make sure that Macro Virus Protection is enabled in all Microsoft applications.

Disable the "Preview Pane" feature in your e-mail client.

If you believe you may have a computer virus, call the Help Desk immediately (X5995). The Help Desk may request you send them a copy of the header of any suspicious e-mail.
