Wisc. Supreme Court Justice and ’72 alumna reflects on courage
The Honorable Justice Ann Walsh Bradley’s (’72) journey from a small southwest Wisconsin town to a seat on her state’s Supreme Court included a lot of courage and a none-too-insignificant stop at Webster University, which was then known as Webster College.
For Bradley, the daughter of a bartender in a “dry” town, neither of her parents had gone to college, though they knew it was important for her older brother to attend.

Mary Preuss
Assistant Professor | Biological Sciences
Plant cell biologist Mary Preuss arrived at Webster in summer 2009 as a full-time faculty member in the Biological Sciences department. Diving right in, in her first year she’s teaching Essentials of Biology, Virology, and supervising senior research students, among other duties. Her husband is also a plant biologist at Monsanto, but their two children are a little too young to declare whether they’ll enter the family field.
