Course Schedule Suggestions for Graduate Careers in Psychology:

Students considering post-graduate work should take the following core classes in psychology:

  • Human Development (or Child Psychology, Adolescent Psychology, and Psychology of Adulthood and Aging)
  • Abnormal Psychology
  • Cognitive Psychology and/or Psychology of Learning Processes
  • Social Psychology
  • Personality Theory
  • Physiological Psychology

Counseling

In addition to required courses and core areas in psychology (see above), students should consider the following electives:

Psychology and Law Health Psychology
Juvenile Delinquency Clinical Psychology
Introduction to Counseling Cross-Cultural & International Psychology
Drug and Chemical Dependency Human Sexuality
Nonverbal Behavior Community Psychology
