Degree Requirements
Courses in anthropology and sociology (ANSO) are designed to help students develop a multicultural understanding of the human experience and the analytical skills necessary for critically evaluating the diversity of human belief systems. A minimum of 42 credit hours must be selected from within anthropology/sociology. At least 15 credit hours must be in 3000-4000 level courses. Students are required to take the following courses:

Special Requirements No more than 6 credit hours obtained in practica, independent learning experiences, reading courses, and assessment of prior learning may be applied toward the 42 credit hours required for a major. Current Webster students should petition for admission to the department on completion of no more than 45 credit hours of academic work. Transfer students are urged to petition for admission to the department at the time of acceptance to the University. Transfer students must complete a minimum of 24 approved credit hours of academic work at Webster within the major. These courses may be included as part of the residency requirement. Courses completed with a grade below a C– do not count toward fulfilling the specific course requirements of the major. |
