Jane M. Robert JANE M. ROBERT
After completing six years as National President of the Federation of Alliances Françaises, USA, Jane Robert recently accepted the Presidency of Saint Louis-Lyon Sister Cities, Inc.

Ms. Robert travels to France several times a year to ensure that French partners are aware of the efforts and successes of the Alliances Françaises, Sister Cities, and other francophile associations in this country. In her leadership role, Ms. Robert meets regularly with supporters such as French elected officials, representatives of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the American Ambassador in Paris, the French Ambassador to the United States in Washington, DC, the Administrators of the Alliance Française de Paris, and, of course, the Director of International Relations of the Ville de Lyon, France.

Ms. Robert received her Diplôme de langue et de civilization from la Sorbonne in 1968, her BA in French Language and Literature from Webster University in 1969, and her Master’s degree in French Language and Literature from Missouri University at Columbia in 1973. Her career path included teaching French as a TA at Missouri University in Columbia; Parkway West Senior High in Ballwin, Saint Louis University in St. Louis, and St. Gerard Catholic elementary school in Kirkwood as a volunteer for nine years. In 1998, the French government recognized her contributions to France and the French language by awarding her a Knighthood as Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Palmes Academiques.

In 2007, Ms. Robert was honored as that year's World Trade Center Saint Louis' Global Ambassador. Also in 2007, she was named to the French Legion of Honor, the highest award given by the French Republic.
