Khaing-Kay Soe Receives Thailand Campus'
2009 Young Alum Award
A&S congratulates Khaing-Kay Soe, recipient of this year’s Young Alumni Award at the Hua Hin/Cha-Am (Thailand) campus. Soe, who received a B.A. in Management degree in 2003 and an M.A. in International Relations degree in 2006, has a long list of community service activities to her credit. Among them:
- Served as the coordinator of Action Research on AIDS and Mobility in Asia and organized a high-level dialogue on the need to better protect the rights of women migrant workers in the Middle East
- Was a program officer for the Asia Pacific Forum on Women, Law, and Development in Chiang Mai, Thailand
- Prepared for and attended the second annual consultation with the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights of Migrant Workers
- Helped launch a Women and Food Sovereignty campaign.
