Nursing Program Is Reaccredited
Webster University’s Department of Nursing recently received formal notification from the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) that its undergraduate and graduate programs have been reaccredited for eight years, the maximum reaccrediting period granted.
Susan Heady, chair, said the NLNAC found the department to be in compliance with all criteria.
The Department of Nursing offers a degree completion program for registered nurses, which leads to a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, and also offers a Master of Science degree in Nursing. Webster’s nursing programs are offered at the St. Louis and Kansas City campuses.
Heady said the NLNAC conducted a site visit in St. Louis in fall 2007. She said Kansas City faculty members participated in the visit either in person or through a recorded presentation and that site examiners interviewed Kansas City students via a webcam conference.
The NLNAC is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as the national accreditation body for all types of nursing education programs.
