Welcome to the Philosophy Department at Webster University! Here you will find exciting programs of study that engage your mind and make a difference in your life.

We specialize in philosophies that address everyday existence and its concerns. More specifically, we offer courses in:

  • Philosophy and Women
  • International Human Rights
  • Pragmatism
  • Philosophy and Film
  • Philosophy of Sex and Love
  • Existentialism
  • Philosophy and Psychoanalysis
  • Environmental Ethics

We also offer courses in The History of Philosophy, Ethics, Political Philosophy, Aesthetics, Epistemology, and Logic.

The overall aim of our efforts is to have a positive, transforming affect on our students--to help them understand themselves with greater insight and to act in the world for the better.
