A MESSAGE FROM OUR DIRECTOR

Julie StoneThe faculty of the nurse anesthesia program and I are pleased that you are interested in graduate studies at Webster University. The University has had a tradition of providing educational excellence since 1915. The nurse anesthesia program, in existence since 1997, strives for excellence in all its endeavors. A frequently cited positive aspect of this university is our small class size and approachable faculty.

As a graduate of the nurse anesthesia program, you will achieve more than you ever expected. Of course, clinical education and expertise are a must and we have excellent clinical partners to help you learn; our number of affiliates is always growing. Nurse anesthetists practice to high standards, always stressing patient safety and striving to achieve quality in the anesthesia services that are provided to our patients. In addition, we believe that your education should lead to lifelong learning, be research-based, and provide opportunities for professional and leadership development.

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) today must be professionally aware and accountable. They are leaders in the health care field. We value the socialization of our students into the profession by strongly encouraging local, state, and national anesthesia meeting attendance, serving on committees, and making presentations to peers, colleagues, and the public.

Our anesthesia faculty are well-educated, experienced clinical practitioners who value you as a person, as a graduate student learning anesthesia, and as a future colleague and peer. Our sciences faculty work hard to provide the foundation upon which anesthesia practice rests. Our clinical faculty are expert practitioners who work intensively with each graduate student assisting in the learning process; all are volunteers for the program.

Together, we all look forward to helping each and every one of you achieve your dreams.

Sincerely,

Julie A. Stone, Ed.D., CRNA
