The School of Business & Technology at Webster University
The Maritz Success to Significance Speaker Series

In 2001, the School of Business and Technology started The Success to Significance Speaker Series. The intent of the series is to create a forum where global corporate leaders and opinion makers who impact our world can share their leadership journey while speaking to the challenges and opportunities evident in their organization. The success of the speaker series has been significant in its impact on our students. But more importantly, it has brought to the forefront issues pertaining to change, innovation, transformation and leadership.

The audience that regularly enjoys these presentations in person is diverse in its composition and demographics. It is made up of Webster students, faculty, administrators, alumni and the St. Louis community at large. Because of Webster’s global presence as an institution of higher learning, we also ensure that our speaker series extends far beyond the immediate vicinity of our home campus in St. Louis. Each presentation is videotaped then made available to all 105 Webster campuses and to all our 22,000 students by way of the internet.

The Success to Significance Speaker Series has become a stage for leaders of substance to speak to the next generation and to offer their perspectives on the issues, the challenges and the opportunities that affect us all. Since its inception, we have welcomed to our campus such corporate luminaries as Lee Scott, president/CEO, Wal-Mart; Edward Whitacre, chairman, AT&T; August A. Busch, president /CEO, Anheuser-Busch; Patricia Woertz, chairman, ADM Company; Hugh Grant, chairman, Monsanto and Andrew C. Taylor, chairman, Enterprise Rent-a-Car. In addition to their presentations before a live audience and to the greater Webster community worldwide via the Internet, C-Span radio has broadcast some of the presentations to their global audience.

Please take a moment to view some of these great addresses found right here on our website. Then plan on joining us this year for the 2008 Success to Significance Speakers by registering for one or all of our upcoming presentations.

Sincerely,
