New Seminars Help Professionals Get Ahead

Project management. People skills. Leadership. These are just a few of the seminar offerings served up by The Center for Professional Development at Webster University for the coming year. The seminars are open to Webster University alumni, students and anyone who wants to sharpen their professional skills.

“We’ve tailored our course schedule for the next year to make it the most relevant for the current business climate,” says Maher Mishriki, center director and associate dean of the School of Business & Technology. “We wanted to ensure that seminar participants will get the greatest return on their financial and time investment.”

Seminar topics include:

  • Managing Projects in a Risky Economy;
  • Effective Presentations;
  • Effective Business Writing;
  • The Data Warehouse as a Decision Support Environment;
  • Data Mining as a Critical Support Tool;
  • Leadership through People Skills;
  • Finance for People Managers;
  • Competencies of Emotional Intelligence;
  • Dimensional Selling; and
  • Leadership Responsibilities and Values.

The seminars are one- or two-day offerings and held at one of two Webster University locations from September 2003 through May 2004.
