Webster Tops Nation in Granting Graduate Degrees to Minority Students

According to a recent survey published in Black Issues in Higher Education, Webster University awards more graduate degrees to African-Americans than any other higher education institution in the United States.

The survey, "Top 100 Degree Producers: Graduate and Professional Degree Producers," is based on data from the U.S. Department of Higher Education. The current rankings are based on statistics from the 2002-03 academic year.

"The findings of this survey are the result of Webster University's long-standing commitment to offer educational opportunities for minority working adults all over the world," says Benjamin Akande, dean of the School of Business & Technology.

Webster has consistently ranked high in the Black Issues survey since its inception in 1991. This is the first year, however, that Webster has ranked No. 1 in the survey.
